Stumble is a free map of things people leave out for others in Berlin. By using it, you agree to these terms. They're short, I promise.
1. What Stumble is
Stumble is run by Simona Ziauberyte as a free, non-commercial project (see the Impressum). I provide the map. I'm not a party to any handover between people, and I don't own, check or guarantee any item.
2. Free means free
Stumble is only for giving things away. No selling, no asking for money, no swaps-for-cash, no advertising.
3. What you can post
Only things you're allowed to give away, placed where it's okay to leave them. Follow local rules (in Berlin, leaving bulky waste on the street can be fined). Not allowed: weapons, drugs, medicines, alcohol or tobacco, anything illegal, recalled or dangerous, food that could spoil, animals, and anything that's really just rubbish.
4. Photos and notes
Only upload photos you took yourself. Don't show people's faces, licence plates, doorbell names or anything else that identifies someone. No offensive, discriminatory or sexual content. You keep the rights to your photos. By posting, you allow me to show them in Stumble (on the map, in lists and in share previews) for as long as the post is stored. You can delete your post at any time (trash icon on your post). The same applies to new-home photos: you keep the rights and allow me to show the photo to the poster and, if you choose “Show it on Stumble”, publicly on the Stumble's page and in share images.
5. Picking things up
Everything is first come, first served. Check items before you take them, especially electronics, furniture and anything for children. Take care of your own safety. Items are given as they are.
6. Liability
Stumble is free and provided as is. I can't guarantee that items exist, are still there, are safe or match their description. I'm liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, and for injury to life, body or health. For slight negligence, I'm only liable for breaches of essential obligations, limited to typical, foreseeable damage. I'm not liable for what other people post or do.
7. Reporting content
If you see something illegal or against these rules, use the Report button (flag) on the Stumble, or email hello@stumble.city with the link and why. I'll review reports promptly and may remove posts or block devices that break these terms. Contact point for authorities and users under the Digital Services Act: hello@stumble.city, in English or German.
8. Fair use
Don't spam, scrape, automate posting, mark things as gone that aren't, or try to break the app.
9. Changes and ending
I may change or pause Stumble or these terms. Big changes will be announced in the app. You can stop using Stumble at any time and delete your data with “Delete my data” on your profile page.
10. Law
German law applies. If you're a consumer living in another EU country, you keep the protection of that country's mandatory consumer law.
